In this tutorial, I'll show you how to turn the built-in feature keys back (media playback, screen brightness, volume, etc.) to function keys with FunctionFlip. This app acts as a background service that can revert your media keys to normal function keys for use in apps that have them enabled as shortcuts. While you can do this by flipping a quick switch in your Mac's keyboard preferences, what FunctionFlip does is give you the ability to change some, but not all of the keys main focus, versus just all of them.
Since this is only meant to be used in apps that use the F keys as shortcuts, it can be turned on and off at any time from your System Preferences app, but if you find yourself using it all the time, you can have it start every time your computer boots.
