But if we know the right extension of the file then we can change its extension and that problem can get resolved. In such a scenario, you may wish to change the extension, so it becomes important to know the process to do the same.
Steps to change extension of a file:
1. Open control panel -Appearance and Personalization - Folder Options - View Tab - Un check the option Hide extensions for known file types and hit OK. Then rename the extension of the file.
2. And to change the extension of many files in one go using CMD commands:
Press windows key + R and open CMD, then type these commands:
• To rename a batch of different image files extension into .png then the command is:
Rename *.* *.png
• For a single .jpg image file the command is:
Move *.jpg *.png
