Seeker Installation on Linux Java in 60 seconds. In the next 60 seconds you'll see how to install the seeker agent on a linux platform and configure it for use with a Java application.
We've already downloaded and unpacked the setup file so we just run setup.sh.
We choose option 1 for Java and then confirm that we will install as root also with option 1, then the default communications port and install path.
Finally we specify the seeker start and stop scripts, these are files that have been created manually and are required to allow the agent to restart the application under test and bind the agent in. Each contains a single line -- to see that watch the Linux PHP video.
The installation is now complete, all that remains is to modify the java configuration file, in this case catalina.sh.
We find the part where the application startup is and paste in the string from the Seeker deployment guide.
We write and quit and we're ready to add the agent to our client.
