Removing motorcycle grips is pretty easy… most of the time. All you need is some WD-40 and thin long flat head screwdriver. The WD-40 breaks down the adhesive between grips the handlebars. And then the screwdriver helps loosen the grips even more so they can slide off.
My plan is to also replace the throttle tube. I bought a new one for eight dollars. It’s not advertised as being compatibility for my bike but I found website where someone else bought this exactly throttle tube for their 1982 Suzuki GS650GL and it worked perfectly. Here's the link to that website:
