How-To / replace the lock cylinder on older Mercedes.... Small tutorial on changing the locking cylinder from the ignition lock on older Mercedes-Benz.
Key must be turnable to ignition stage one to do this!
And has to be turned in that stage when changing the cylinder.
The metall collar can be turned in either direction.
(but works best righty tidy, lefty loosey)
Turn it till you overcome a resistance, the lock cylinder is then released.
NEVER turn the key until you are sure that the lock cylinder has bottomed out, this is the reason why i had to change the ignition/steering lock and cylinder on mine, i RUINED it!
