2003 Ford Ranger: Replacing instrument cluster illumination bulbs. In this video, I replaced the instrument cluster illumination bulbs in a 2003 Ford Ranger. I frequently see these vehicles with bulbs inoperative in the cluster. I also discuss adjusting the PRNDL indicator needle, as these are often out of alignment.
This process applies to the following vehicles found on the North American market: Ford Ranger 1995-2011, Ford Explorer 1995-2001, Mazda B-series pickup 1995-2009, Ford Explorer Sport Trac 2000-2005.
Bulbs required: 194 or 194LL
Tools required: 1/4"-drive sockets 5.5mm, 7mm, 8mm. 1/4"-drive ratchet and/or driver handle. Needle nose pliers. Flash light or work light. Nitrile/Latex gloves. Plastic trim tool. Optional: Torx T-20 driver, 1/4"-drive cordless impact driver, flexible shaft 1/4"-drive driver.
Time required: 30mins to 1hr.
