How long does it take to Change a Belief? Which belief do I Change?. So how long does it take to change a belief?
While there might be a phase of preparation and reinforcement, the actual moment of belief change typically occurs in a fraction of a second.
For me the question isn’t about taking the time to change a belief, but is more about taking the time to find a ‘highly leveraged’ belief to change.
There are a lot of tools/protocols/techniques that focus on changing people's beliefs...
( For one that I use click here: https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=9hdbbrE1cFk )
But once you have a tool to change beliefs - it can be in your best interest to explore a little bit before making any changes.
There is no such thing as a free floating belief, beliefs reside in rich and robust systems!
Changing a belief without exploring the larger system is like taking 20 minutes to repaint a small scratch on your car door — only to step back and realize that the entire door is dinged and dented.
If we need to replace the entire door you might not want to waste your time repainting the scratches!
The more you explore, and the more you understand the system that is governing your (or somebody else's) behavior, the more precise you can be in finding the beliefs that will give you the most influence in the system without getting sidetracked and wasting your time chasing rabbits.
